When comparing care homes in Glasgow, use inspection reports, the care offered, location, current fees and your own conversations with each home. Public reviews can help identify questions to ask, but they do not establish whether a home can meet a particular person’s needs.
This article previously ranked ten homes using a June 2026 snapshot of Google reviews and included inspection claims that were not supported by the correct regulator records. Those rankings and unsupported inspection statements have been removed. The existing profile links are retained below as places to investigate, in alphabetical order.
Check Scotland’s inspection information
Care services in Scotland are inspected by the Care Inspectorate. CQC ratings apply to England and should not be used to describe a Glasgow home. Find the exact service in the Care Inspectorate’s service search and read its latest published report. Check the service name, address and report date rather than relying on a rating copied into a directory.
Profiles to explore
Some of these homes are outside Glasgow itself. Check the address and travel arrangements before shortlisting. Inclusion is not an endorsement, a current availability statement or a ranking.

Turn reviews into questions
Look at what reviewers describe and when they visited. Ask the provider about issues that matter to your family, such as communication, meals, activities and continuity of staff. A small number of reviews is not enough to establish a reliable comparison between homes, and an old score may not describe the current service.
Arrange a visit and discuss the care needs
Ask the home to explain whether it can meet the person’s assessed needs, including overnight support and any specialist care. Discuss the person’s routines, preferences and how family members will be kept informed. Where possible, include the person receiving care in the visit and decision.
Request a written quote, what the fee includes, available rooms, the assessment process and the contract terms. Keep the quote separate from any general area estimate.
Local assessment and support
Glasgow Health and Social Care Connect explains how to request advice or support and an assessment where needed. It can help you understand the local route into social care.
