Heaton Vale reviews: what do families say?
Lovely area for a walk with the dog. We normally walk down the river then through the nature park before heading home or up the cobbles to the crown pub. You can park close by and have a lovely walk they have a couple of benches it is up steps and not very flat so not ideal if you struggle with uneven surfaces.
Nice enough walk. It is part or the national cycle path though and gets quite busy with bikes riding up and down. Best to keep your dog on a lead. Seen plenty of animals, birds on this route. Bats at night. Herons and Cormorants are often seen by the water. Also have seen the odd deer, fox and hedgehogs in the surrounding woodland.
If you don't feel like driving far but want to stretch your legs, breath some fresh air and rest your mind, why not enjoy Mersey Vale nature park that's especially great in the evening when birds sing sunset songs?
Great place to go for a walk along the river, perfect for runs, bike rides, dogs loves it, sound of the water flowing, as you walk through you see a little farm where you can see horses roaming!
Awesome place for a walk and to see some top railway history really nice area.
