The Dales is one of Exeter’s oldest and most respected nursing homes, operating now since 1988. We are Exeter’s leading provider of dementia nursing and end of life palliative care. Our manager, Marie Brown, is a Registered General Nurse of more than 40 years’ experience and only one of a handful of managers rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission. Our ethos is: Care, Compassion, and Comfort for our residents. Our dedicated kind, caring staff have been with us for many years, making it easier for us to really know and care for our 31 residents’ likes and dislikes.

My Mum has been in The Dales Nursing home since March as she fell and broke her neck whilst at home. I can’t speak highly enough of the love and care the staff have given her. She has had some complex issues but they have worked so hard to deal with each and every issue, to stabilise her, make her comfortable and treat her with great respect always keeping her as active as possible and smiling. Both Mum and I feel lucky that the hospital sent her here for ongoing care.
Excellent care home My brother was I Dale's nursing home for several weeks before he passed peacefully. The care hone is amazing on every level, my brother was cared for with the best care and dignity you could ask for , every member of staff was kind and caring the home is run by an amazing Matron. I can't thank the care home enough for the end of life care my brother had .
My late mother received the most wonderful care during the five years she was looked after at The Dales. She suffered with dementia and was bed ridden but all the staff showed the utmost kindness to her and helped her reach the ripe old age of 101!
The wonderful staff at the Dales cared for my mother in the final weeks of her life and I can honestly say that the kindness, attention and compassion shown were of the highest order . This wonderful team really care about the people and their relatives in their charge.
